During the month of December, ACS is piloting a student chapter membership challenge to get students to become ACS members. Winning chapters will be awarded one free student member registration to the ACS national meeting in New Orleans in April 2013!
There are so many benefits to being an ACS member! We want students to know that ACS is more than being in a student chapter: We can be your most important resource for finding a job, getting your research in front of the right people, and getting into the graduate program of your choice.
Plus, as an undergraduate, you can take advantage of all that ACS has to offer while your ACS dues are only a fraction of the regular cost ($25* vs. $148)!
So here’s the deal: Recruit as many new paid ACS members from your school as you can by December 31, 2012. Prizes will be awarded to:
- The Chapter that recruits the MOST new paid members.
- The Chapter that increases its membership by the largest percentage. (If your school has 0 ACS members now, you must acquire at least 6 members to qualify for this category.)
BONUS: Want one of those awesome PERIODIC TABLE BLANKETS? Use Member-Get-a-Member to sign up your new recruits and YOU (the Nominee) will get a FREE Period Table of the Elements blanket – just in time for winter! The more members you recruit, the more blankets you get!! (One blanket for each new member nominated and paid.)
Another bonus: Don’t forget to look into our National Meeting Travel Grant! If you are presenting a poster and have an active student chapter, you can apply for $300 in travel funds! And if you don’t have an active chapter, enter this contest and get yours started!
Otherwise, new members can sign up here.
Contest runs through December 31, 2012, MIDNIGHT EASTERN TIME – THIS IS A HARD (and fast) DEADLINE!! IMPORTANT: Your nominee(s) must become a new paid member in 2012 in order to be counted.
